GOOD SIPPIN'

The Bootlegger Irish Stout is now ready to consume., it had a little more carbonation than what we wanted, but it is still a pretty good irish stout....it definetly has some hop bitterness to it, which was a nice suprise....all in all, a tasty cold beverage for the thirsty man returning home from the work day....

The weather was beautiful but for some reason we couldnt find the right water. If anyone wants to go to the camp we are going the first weekend in May. By then the specks should be in full force. 225-329-7186 if anyone wants to go we always have enough boats, booze, and food.

green trout

nice 6 llb bass from the LSU lakes.

Anyone need any camouflage?

If anybody out there needs any camo for hunting season this year, this may be the guy to see, as long as you have some black cable ties. He can be found just south of Stringer (or as the locals say, "Stranger") on Missippi' Hwy 15.....gotta love it

Boondock Sports

This is my friend David Davidge who is currently in the "Hook it up" picture with a gator on a leash, he put us on those alligators down in Manchac, in my earliest post. I am going back down there the 1st weekend in May for a bachelor party, I should get some more Gator pics. Their other video's are kick ass too!

Hooked Up All Night

Just got this picture from Shelby. He and Sparkman went out on an all night Tuna trip from Fourchon last spring (I think). As you can see it was a multi-species bloodbath. They slept on the bean bags you can see on the top of the boat and lived on cold fried chicken and colder beer. Maybe one of them will comment with some more details.

BOOTLEGGER BREWING CO. NEARING RELEASE OF "BOOTLEGGER IRISH STOUT"

Wanted to give everyone an update on the Bootlegger Irish Stout.... today has been two weeks since I brewed it and put it in the fermenter....the yeast have had a kick ass party the last few weeks and fermentation has now ceased and it was time to bottle. Here are a few pics of "Bottling Day." The Bootlegger Irish Stout will need 3 more weeks of bottling conditioning and will be ready to enjoy. It was brewed with 64oz of Hopped Dark Malt Extract, 2lbs Dark Dried Malt Extract, 6oz Crystal Grain, 4oz Roast Barley Grain, 2oz Hop Pellets, Ale Yeast, and Priming Sugar for bottling.

BigDave (a.k.a. "DeerSlayer") stopped by just in time to taste a sample of this full bodied black stout, with expressive hop bitterness and a sweet burnt-malt aftertaste....Delicious goodness i might say, .....just wait til' 3weeks from now, give it time to bottle condition and my oh my, make ya' slap ya' momma. I only have a 5-gallon fermentor so i was only able to get about 2.5 cases out of it.

The big gallon growler on the right is an I.P.A that Bootlegger brewed a few months ago.

MAN KILLS DEER WITH BARE HANDS

This doe was killed by BigDave (sometimes mistaken as BigFoot) the last day of deer season in Utica, MS.....no witnesses were on site, but he claims his rifle jammed and so he jumped from the deer stand and cut the deer off on a post route, then wrestled it to the ground.....these photos were taken moments after the duel...he claims he strangled it using one of his suspenders

More Sailing...

We took a quick four day trip down to Coconut Grove. We planned to sail to Nassau, but strong winds from the East would not let that happen. So, we sailed around the Keys, enjoyed some Cuban food, and had several Rum Runners. Didn't catch any fish, but we did manage to gaff a nice pillow.

more fishing pics from Chandeleur Islands..

Here are some more pics from last September when Big Dave and I joined some north MS anglers on a 3 night fishing expedition to the Chandeleur Islands off the MS Gulf Coast (it's actually LA waters). We loaded out of Biloxi on a "Mothership" equipped with Skiffs, 2 deck hands, a captain, and a chef. 400 or 500 beers were loaded on as well to keep hydrated..

Just another day at the office....Reds and Specks were on the agenda and they got snagged everyday all day long, who's ya daddy?

Nothing like being on a boat, coolers full of fish and watching the sun set....
